Map three priorities
Write down the three places or activities that matter most. Look for a neighbourhood that makes those journeys manageable. A highly rated hotel on the wrong side of a city can be a poor match for your itinerary.
Measure a real journey
Check the walking route to a useful transport stop. Consider steps, hills, luggage and arrival time. Straight-line map distances do not capture these details.
Choose your trade-off
Decide what you would give up for more space, quiet or a view. Compare two or three areas using the same priorities so that a beautiful photograph does not become the only deciding factor.
Confirm the final details
Before reserving, verify the exact address, check-in arrangements and the room category. Keep a copy of the terms shown at checkout.
